CREATING A BETTER FUTURE

Eric Du’Brock Lurry Jr was a devoted husband, a father to three children, and his mother’s only son.

Eric was family oriented with dreams of becoming a barber instructor for young children & adults in his community.
A few months prior to Eric death, Eric had obtained his Illinois State Barber License, a Construction Certificate and had enrolled in CDL school.
Eric was so determined and dedicated after graduating barber college on
October 6, 2019 Eric Re-enrolled December 4, 2019 to continue his education at Larry’s Barber College to obtain his Illinois State Barber Instructor License.

Eric was a community leader and volunteer his service throughout Will County and Surrounding areas. Eric hosted and participated in back to school events throughout the community to give out free school supplies & free haircuts to the youth, Eric also volunteer his services at local nursing homes to cut the elderly hair.
Eric had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He was an awesome husband, father, godfather, son, brother, cousins, grandson, uncle, nephew, and friend who loved helping everyone.

Eric grew a passion for socializing and mentoring young adults. Eric embodied the definition of what it means to be a good man. Eric had a charisma that gravitated everyone’s attention in any room when he walked in. He had a smile that could light up any room.

Eric loved the game of basketball and enjoyed playing basketball with his family and friends. As a child, Eric’s father coached him in becoming the great basketball player that he was. Eric was the life of every party he attended. Eric loved getting dressed up, looking good and going out to eat. Eric also enjoyed going bowling and talking trash on the spades and chess table.

On January 28, 2020 Eric DuBrock Lurry Jr died due to the hands of JPD and couldn’t see his dream unfold. Despite some past mistake that deprived Eric of his freedom at times in his life, he had a bright future and was taking significant steps to improve his life and the life of his family.

Eric’s death has devastated his entire family and the community Eric lived in, Eric’s Wife Nicole Lurry and children Robynne, Erykah, Eric III have suffered and will forever continue to suffer from the heart-wrenching loss of their supportive, loving, devoted husband & father.

In honor of Eric (BJ) Lurry Jr Foundation I would like to open a Youth Center in the community to help young adults in hopes of 
CREATING A BETTER FUTURE
I would like to also implicate programs to better our youth such as:

Creative Digital Media
Educational Vocational and Recreational Activities
Personal and Professional Skills Development
Arts and Cultural Projects
Support and Advocacy
Barbering Scholarships

The purpose of the Eric BJ Lurry Jr Foundation is to inspire hope, awareness, and bring meaning, positive change to people of all races, gender, ethnicity in the fight for fairness, equality, and justice.

Eric BJ Lurry Jr. Foundation would like to help the young youth pursue their dreams, by
